Google chrome extensions is now official for all chrome 4 users , although it still says Beta version. Chrome extensions is basically like the addons feature in firefox.
The good things about chrome extensions is :
- You dont have to restart the browser after intalling/ uninstall
- You can install greasemonkey scripts right away without the greasemonkey addon
- There is a built in pack / unpack feature for the extensions
- Synced Bookmarks is now available for all chrome users
So far the extensions i have been using are :
- Google translate (just one click to translate into any language)
- Google quick scroll (scrolls to your keyword when you open a webpage from search)
- Google sidewiki (get opinions of other visitors of a website)
- Google Mail notifier
- Aviary screenshot (3rd party web screenshot maker and editor)
- You tube downloader (download youtube videos in many formats)
There are not many extensions yet because its still new, but there’s enough for you to play around with.
One thing i’d like to see is a download manager extension like flashgot in firefox.
