The PS3 is now sold at $299 (from $399) for the 80 GB model, and $399 (from $499) for the 160 GB (will be discontinued). The new PS3 slim will replace all current models and sold at $299. The PS3 slim is 32 percent lighter, 36 percent smaller and consumes about 34 percent less power. PS3 slim will be available from September 1st.

Microsoft will drop dropped the Xbox Elite 120 GB price to $299 (from $399) replacing the old Xbox pro (will be discontinued) price tag starting next week 28 August 2009 .
